Exhibition Venues Spotlight: Newcastle Metro Arena

Newcastle and the North East of England in general is becoming an increasingly more glamorous location to hold exhibitions as a result of millions of pounds of investment in the area. One of the major exhibition venues in Newcastle is the Newcastle Metro Arena, a modern structure which regularly hosts large scale shows and which attracts exhibitors and visitors from around the world. The Metro is the largest of all exhibition venues in the North East of England. Exhibition in Newcastle.

When the indoor space is combined with the considerable outdoor space which is available, there is almost 70,000 square metres of space meaning that this arena can hold events of varying size, especially as the arena can be split to hold more than one event at a time. The staff at the arena prides itself on the standard of service that is offered to those holding a show here, with help available at all stages of an event, starting from the early stages of planning up to the practicalities of running the show. The high quality and diverse in house catering services add significantly to the quality of events as well as adding to the convenience of all involved.

One of the characteristics of this arena which is most significant in its success is the desirable location near the centre of the city which means that visitors can enjoy all of the benefits of the large and modern city centre as well as having great links via road, rail and air (with Newcastle International airport). The onsite car park is large enough to service the majority of events, but where required, parking can be acquired in and around the city centre.

There are plenty of good hotels in the centre and a location just off of the centre such as 'Jesmond' is a good area and an easy taxi ride for business people, to the Metro Centre. Jesmond is served by several restaurants and hotels and is a short 10 minute walk into the city centre.

Guide to the Brussels Exhibition Centre

Brussels is a popular location on an international scale for hosting events, with many popular exhibitions taking place at the national exhibition centre, the Brussels Exhibition Centre. With an amazing twelve rooms which together equate to almost 120,000 square feet, this is the largest Exhibition venue in Belgium, and the different sizes of the rooms mean that it is also one of the most diverse.

As well as having large rooms capable of hosting large international events, the Brussels exhibition centre also has a number of smaller meeting rooms which appeal to those looking to host a smaller scale event, whilst also being an attractive feature for those who require networking facilities as part of a larger event.

Despite having been in existence since early in the 20th century, the Brusssels Exhibition Centre is highly modern as a result of the various renovations and refurbishments which have been undertaken in the various different sections. Each of the halls is air conditioned and supported by all of the high tech facilities that you would expect from such an important city on the international stage, both politically and socially. These facilities are expertly supported by a high quality standard of staff who provide a service which is renowned internationally for its ability to help ensure that all events run to the best possible standard.

In terms of in house catering, there are different options to choose from ranging from finger food up to higher standard sit down meals. One thing is for sure at the Belgium Exhibition Centre, which is that any show held here is sure to leave a lasting impression.

International Venues Spotlight: Rio Centro Exhibition Centre

Rio de Janeiro is an obvious choice of location for anybody looking to hold a conference or exhibition in Brazil. This is due to the fact that Rio is one of the largest cities in the country and has a great deal of resources to accommodate those participating in the event as well as those who are visiting. This fact will only be reiterated further in the coming years as the city evolves in order to host the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.

The largest conference and exhibition centre in Rio de Janerio, and indeed in Latin America, is the Riocentro Exhibition Centre. Built in 1977 it is an absolute monster of a venue which has a Rio viewnumber of different pavilions, all of which can host events of significant size. Indeed, 4 of the pavilions will be used for sporting events during the 2014 Olympics.

When combined, the pavilions add up to almost 6000 square metres, making it amongst the biggest venues in the world. The capacity of the venue depends on the nature of the event but easily exceeds 4,000 people. As well as being used for exhibitions, conferences and sport, the venue is also used for congresses and music events. The venue is continually evolved in keeping with new building trends and the majority of the pavilions are air conditioned to help manage the considerable temperatures which are regularly reached in this part of the world.

As would be expected of a venue of this size, the Riocentro has an in house catering department which can cater events of all sizes, although obviously the nature of the catering available may vary depending on the size of the event. There is also access to wi-fi internet throughout the venue meaning that exhibitors and visitors alike can take full advantage of this resource. Another notable resource is audio visual facilities which can help to provide a professional feel to an event. There are also a number of meeting rooms and a VIP lounge.

In terms of access, there are 7,000 car park spaces on sight and the centre is also well linked to the city by regular bus services and its close proximity to the metro. The nearest airport is only a ten minute drive away which makes it convenient for international visitors. The Riocentro has a huge tropical garden which is great for networking or taking time away from an event, especially as the backdrop is so spectacular.

Coming this week - OFFSHORE EUROPE 2011

The European oil and gas industry is extremely large and has a significant impact upon the economy in this part of the world, and therefore any major meetings of the people and organisations involved in this industry are regarded as high priority. One of the most important events in this category is Offshore Europe, a conference and exhibition held regularly in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Offshore Europe is a platform for people to learn about the current affairs and developments in the industry, to debate these issues and to offer solutions to them. Over the three days of the event there are a number of different Offshore rigsactivities and events designed to facilitate these aims, including seminars, breakfast briefings, training courses, demonstrations and exhibitions.

The conference programme schedules events running side by side, so it is best to view the schedule in advance of arriving to establish which events will be most beneficial to you, although it should be noted that some of the events run more than once. The exhibition sees approximately 1500 stands showcasing everything related to oil and gas extraction. There is also a deepwater zone which offers speciality services and products through the medium of both exhibition stands and presentations.

Offshore Europe is attended by most (if not all) of the key companies and organisations in Europe as well as others from around the world, and with such few events where such a comprehensive crowd can be found, this really is the best place to network and build those key relationships.
