UK Exhibition Venues: Business Design Centre Islington

London is an international hub for business and trade and it makes sense that so many industries often choose London as a location to exhibit and market their business. The city is certainly set up to accommodate shows of any size, given the Business Design Centreoptions for London accommodation, transport and other facilities. One of the smaller exhibition venues in the city and which we highlight this time is the Business Design Centre in Islington.

If you are organising an exhibition in London and want to avoid using one of the large and more expensive venues, the Business Centre in Islington, London, offers an excellent option for small and medium sized events. With a convenient location in the heart of London and as a versatile venue, there are six main areas to the Business Design Centre: the Mezzanine, the Gallery Hall, the Auditorium, Room A, Syndicate Rooms B-H, and the Executive Centre.

Which room or rooms you’ll need for your event will depend on how many people you’re expecting to host and what the nature of your event will be. A small business meeting might only need access to one of the Syndicate Rooms, while a large conference may require the use of the entire facility.

For smaller events, the Business Design Centre Islington recommends Room A, Syndicate Rooms B-H, and the Executive Centre. Room A can seat up to 250, but includes movable acoustic walls so that the room can be split up for smaller events. Rooms B-H are individually air-conditioned and are separated by acoustic walls so that they can be combined or separated as needed. The Executive Centre has a meeting area that accommodates seventy, as well as two syndicate rooms that can accommodate twelve people each, boardroom-style. These are great options for business meetings.

Travel Technology Show 2011

The importance of technology continues to grow with most sectors finding that I.T. and other technological fields have a continually increasing influence. Technology and related innovations help to make business faster, easier and more efficient and one industry that certainly benefits is the ‘Travel Industry’ – particularly with the impact Computerised Reservation Systems have had in this sector. One show which takes place every February, in the UK and which helps to satisfy the demand for Travel Technology is the appropriately named ‘Travel Technology Show’ which takes place at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London, England.

Some of the travel sectors being represented at the show include: tour operators, travel agents, online travel providers, hotel chains, destination management companies, cruises, airlines, and transportation providers.

Travel Technology Show 2011 helps exhibitors to the event to find new suppliers, to keep up-to-date on industry trends, and to network with other businesses. If you plan to exhibit at the show, as well and making some strong industry contacts, taking the chance to walk the floor to see what else is new in the travel and travel technology can be an interesting experience.

You can learn more about the show via The Travel Technology show official site.

3 Exhibitions you must attend in Barcelona in 2011

After its renovation during the 1992 Summer Olympic Games, the city of Barcelona became an excellent place to hold exhibitions and Barcelona Motor Showtrade shows. The city improved not just in terms of new structures but also with an influx of visitors due to the world wide attention. This in effect has also helped the city to attract a number of international exhibitions and trade shows to the city.

Today, industries from all over the world come to Barcelona to display their latest products and make an impact on the market. Next year, the city will be hosting a number of important trade shows and below 3 of my favourites:

1. Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2011 - Global communications is a growth industry and with devices such as smart phones more popular than ever, trade shows on mobile technology are incredibly popular. Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2011 dubs itself as the biggest mobile show on the planet, with over 50,000 visitors attending the conference to see the latest services, technology and research the latest potential markets.

2. International Tourism Show - There are many sights to see in Catalonia and the International Tourism Show, which takes place annually in Barcelona, allows for businesses such as hotels and resorts to establish themselves in the market. It is arguably one of the most important and attended tourist events in Spain.

3. Barcelona Motor Show - This motor show coincides with the Spanish F1 Grand Prix, making the most of the country's love of cars. One of the top motoring events in Europe, the exhibition attracts over a million visitors each year to see the latest models and vehicles from over 200 manufacturers. The motor show is held every other year in May and is going to be one of the city's biggest events in 2011.

If you are planning to exhibit at one of these events, you can buy Barcelona Exhibiton Stands online and also find Barcelona airports information online.

Exhibition Venues in Scotland

Following on from last week's blog post about Exhibitions in Scotland, a look this week at some of the venues. Scotland has a host of venues all around the country that cater for the large number of trade shows and exhibitions and the largest among them is The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow. With five large halls that range in size from 7,000m2 to 10,000m2, the largest, Hall 4, can easily accommodate over 10,000 delegates. The SECC holds many of the International shows such as the Scottish Wedding Show and is Scotland's top exhibition venue.

In Edinburgh, the Royal Highbury Centre is billed as the city's No. 1 event venue. It is extremely popular with trade shows from every industry due to its prime location, which is within one hour's drive of 60% of Scotland's population. With three large halls, the centre has a total floor space of over 18,000m2 that can easily cater for any trade show and its exhibitors.

A lot of exhibitions are also held in the country's concert halls, shopping centres and arenas. The Braehead Arena in Glasgow, for example, is a shopping centre that is also known to host wedding trade shows at certain times of the year. Glasgow's Concert Hall is also used for the same thing, when it's not showing the latest musical acts.

Aberdeen Exhibition Centre is a major venue on the East coast of Scotland and this holds a number of domestic shows and events throughout the year. The SECC is the primary venue for international exhibitions in Scotland and tends to be the main focus for the larger shows. The Aberdeen venue though has excellent facilities and is worth considering if you are ever looking to hold a smaller show in Scotland.
