SPATEX (Spa, Saunas and Pools Exhibition) 2010

The wellness and relaxation industry is one which generates a very significant amount of money in the business world and which is an interesting industry in that it covers travel, leisure, health and business. One event which capitalises on the increase in demand for the wellness and relaxation industry is the SPATEX Exhibition and once again, the show is almost upon us.
SPATEX 2010
SPATEX 2010 this year takes place in Brighton at the Hilton Metropole between the 7th and 9th February. This event will once again focus on Pool, Spa and Lifestyle and bring together many of the big players in the leisure and wellness industry.

The show always includes a number of workshops and these tend to be quite industry specific. For 2010 highlights include:
  • Swimming Pool Lighting.
  • Sauna and Steam design.
  • Energy Conservation and pools.
The event is quite specialised and attracts a lot of people from within the industry. The show is open though to both industry and to the general public and there is plenty to see and do for both parties. Brighton itself, although cold in the winter months, still is a pleasant place to attend an exhibition and with plenty of after-event activities with some fine restaurants and place to have a quiet drink, you should have a good time in Brighon if attending SPATEX 2010.

City Spotlight: Berlin Exhibitions

Berlin is one of those cities which most people who visit tend to like a lot. It seems to have something for everyone. As a business person, you'll find the hotels, business centers and exhibition facilities you will need. As someone attending an exhibition Berlin has a good public transportion system and its own international airport. For everyone there are plenty of excellent restaurants, bars and lots to see and do in the city if there is any spare time in between business and work.

Exhibition Venues in Berlin - there are several options for places to exhibit if you are organising an exhibition in Berlin. Venues include:

  • Estrel Berlin Hotel & Convention Center.
  • Berlin Messe.
  • Berlin Arena.
  • The The Ritz Carlton Berlin.

There are a couple of airports in Berlin and for those of you travelling from country's nearby, the European railway links Berlin exhibitionsare also very good. Berlin International airport will most likely be your entry point into the city and the airport provides a Business Lounge for those for need it and are members.

Look ahead to February Exhibitions

The 2010 Exhibitions Calendar is now well and truly underway and February always brings us some world class Exhibitions and Expos across the UK and Europe. A quick look below at a few of the shows coming up in next month:

1. MCN London Motorcycle Show - Between the 4th and 7th February, the ExCel Exhibition centre hosts this annual show dedicated to the motorcycle industry. An excellent show for Exhibitions in Februaryindustry insiders and for motorbike enthusiasts. This show is open to the public and a must for those of you interested in bikes.
2. The Travel and Technology Show as highlighted in the Jan 15th post, is an event which is generating a lot of interest in the media and amongst travel companies. The Travel industry is continually becoming more and more reliant upon technology, including with CMS systems and for planning and marketing. The 9th and 10th February at Earls Court is the time and place.

3. In Scotland, the Scotland Wedding Event exhibition in Glasgow Royal Albert Hall on 13th and 14th February brings all of the key elements for weddings under one roof. A show I attended last year and which I found to be well organised.

Travel Technology Show 2010

The Travel Industry has become increasingly dependent on technology in recent years with booking systems, websites, ticketing systems and planning systems, just a few ways in which computers are now used.

It will thus come as no surprise that the the annual Travel Technology Show is becoming increasingly popular with the travel industry and visitor and exhibitor numbers build year on year. This year the event takes place on the 9th and 10th February at the Earls Court exhibition venue and an impressive seminar line-up is scheduled.

This year seminars will include talks on:
  • European Travel Trends 2010
  • Social media what next?
  • and Riding the storm – how is the travel trade doing?

In addition to the seminars, there will be companies covering a wide range of subject issues connected to both travel and I.T., including Content Management System companies, Web Design, Yield Travel TechnologyManagement and Reservation Systems companies.

This show is more of an I.T. style exhibition rather than travel exhibition in many ways and is more directed at business owners, management and people working in the industry, rather than for people looking for travel and holidays. If you do work in the travel industry and are looking for technological solutions and help then this show is excellent and well worth trying to attend if you are able to. Holiday World in Dublin & Belfast (January 2010)

Popular in recent years and back again this year, the Holiday World Show will once again take place in Belfast (15th - 17th Jan) and Dublin (22nd - 24th Jan). This is one of the biggest Holiday shows which takes place in these two cities and the RDS Exhibition Centre (Dublin) and Kings Hall (Belfast) are two sizable venues which are great locations for the show.

The Holiday World show is especially interesting in that it really covers a wide spectrum of sectors within the travel industry, including Caravaning, Health, Water-sports, Destinations and pretty much Holiday World Showeverything associated with this industry.

The event is open to both the general public and to the trade, on all three days in both venues and the Dublin event itself is split into 9 sections including the Caravaning, Adventure travel and Home Holidays sections.

In Belfast, the show runs alongside the Angling Ireland Show and the Caravan and Motorhome Show to offer visitors 3 shows in the same venue. There are normally 200 or so exhibitors in each venue for the Holiday Show and visitor numbers tend to be strong. Hope to see you in Belfast and then Dublin!

Exhibition News updates

It has been a hectic start to 2010 with the snow and extreme weather here in the UK and across Europe, in the last week. A few of you I know have had difficulties getting to the main exhibition venues for events and with more snow forecast for this weekend, travel conditions could again be challenging. Most events though have been going ahead.

Exhibitions and the weather - the advice is to check with the specific exhibition centre at which your event is being held. You can also contact the exhibition organisers, if you have any questions. Most UK exhibition venues have their own website and you can find the event information and contact details this way. With the majority of Exhibitions tending to normally take indoors, Exhibitions are normally far less affected than sporting events.

Exhibition Stands Discount - Online discounts can be found online direct with Clip Display in the UK. Up to 40% discount is available online. You can learn more about the 40% Online Discounts for stands online.

Weekend Nightlights - Do not forget that this weekend brings 2 very good Exhibitions to London:
  • The France Show - runs through until Sunday evening at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre.
  • London Boat Show - which still has 9 days to go. Lots to see and do at this event at the ExCel Exhibition Centre.
