UK Exhibition Courses update (museum and heritage)

As well as Trade and Business exhibitions, museums and heritage exhibitions are popular in the events industry. This is now reflected and acknowledged with a University Course directly aimed at the Museum and Heritage coursesexhibitions industry and Museums and Heritage.

Course Title: Heritage Exhibition Design - MA/PgDip
Location: University of Salford, School of Art & Design
Level of course: MA/PgDip

The course focuses on practical elements in addition to studies in the classroom. The course involves a six week placement in a museum or heritage related venue. Ties with the industry are being forged with the University of Salford and this aims to help students gain invaluable experience.

The course covers all of the elements associated with exhibitions and events work including in :

  • Exhibition Design and presenation
  • Exhibition Management
  • Communication skills

International Exhibitions Guide: China (Part 2)

Following on from Part 1 of our guide to the main exhibition venues in China, a look at a few more of the main international venues in China below:

The Zhengzhou International Conference & Exhibition Centre is considered to be one of the finest exhibition and convention centres in China. The venue is an ideal centre for hosting exhibitions and has a refreshing new feel. The exhibition centre is situated in a newly developed business district in Zhengzhou and is conveniently located for Zhengzhou airport.

The exhibition centre is managed by VMZL and the centre offers two exhibition halls which cover 66,000 square metres of floor space. There is also an external exhibition area that offers an additional 38,000 square metres of ground area. The centre also has a Grand Hall that can seat over 3000 people and is complemented by a theatre that has seating for 1,090 people and two further theatres that can accommodate a smaller number of people. This is a superb velue and one which is ideal for exhibitions, events, conferences, hospitality functions and meetings.

Suzhou International Expo Center (SIEC) which is shortened to SuzhouExpo is situated by Lake Jinji and covers a stunning 320,000 square metres with the internal exhibition area covering 120,000 square metres and a separate conference facility offering 11,000 square metres.

SIEC is a popular exhibition and conference venue for domestic companies within China and also for international organisations doing business in China. Past shows at the Suzhou International Expo Center have included travel exhibitions and property shows and the centre has now established itself as a world class exhibition and conference centre.

UK Exhibitions - Top 5 in the next 4 weeks.

A number of exhibitions countrywide are taking place in the coming weeks and covering a variety of subjects and industries. Below 5 of the best in the next 4 weeks.

1. Scotland Wedding Show - This show takes place in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall 22nd and 23rd August and UK Exhibitionscontinues to grow in stature as a show. An excellent show for those of you who can be in Glasgow for the event and who are thinking of getting married.

2. Speciality Fine Food Fair London 2009 - is a show we have discussed several times on this blog in recent years and the 2009 show is now only a few weeks away. Olympia, London hosts the show between the 6th and 8th September.

3. Offshore Europe 2009 - is a major event for the oil and gas industry and takes place every two years. Aberdeen Exhibition Centre is the place to be between the 8th and 11th September. This is a key show if you are involved with the oil and gas sector.

4. The French Property Exhibition - is likely to be popular again this year despite the recession. This 11th - 13th September show always attracts a large crowd to the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London and highlights not only property but food and French fashion.

5. Southampton Boat Show -is one of the largest boat shows in Europe and an extensive 10 day event on the waterfront. This is a largely outdoor event and worth spending a full day at.

ExpoWest 2010 - Exhibitions in Cornwall & Wales

Cornwall and Wales are two of the places we hear so little of for Exhibitions and thus it is great that ExpoWest 2010 are events we can now tell you about. The announcement of the 2010 shows will bring some companies and people to these areas and exhibitors from across the UK.

These 2 events are aimed at the catering and hospitality industries and the shows bring together and highlight food, catering and production.

Expowest Cornwall - Scheduled for the 2nd -4th March 2010 and taking place at the Royal Cornwall Showground (PL27 7JE for your SatNav), this event attracts exhibitors including names such as:
  • Booker
  • Coffee West Ltd
  • Gourmet Classic Ltd
  • Out of Eden Ltd
  • Total Energy Solutions

and a number of other well known food, drink and catering companies. This is a great location and a chance to attend an exhibition away from the main city venues.

Upcoming UK exhibitions 2009

There are some popular exhibitions coming up in the next few months thus I thought that on this blog I'd let you know about some of the events coming up in the UK below in he next few weeks.

1. Lingerie & swimwear Show - The Harrogate Centre hosts the 2009 event which is now combined as the Sun & Swim 2009 event. This event Uk Exhibitionstakes place next week between the 16th and 18th August.

2. Surf Expo 2009 - is an exhibition taking place in Exeter's WestPoint Centre on the 18th and 19th August. For anyone who works in the surf and watersports industry or who is interested in this field, this is a key show.

3. The Scottish Wedding Event 2009 is an excellent event in the North for those of you looking to get married and for people in the industry. August 22nd and the 23rd in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall

4. The Fine Food Fair London between the 6th and 8th September for those of you in London, is a worthwhile event if you are free that weekend. Foods from around the world are the theme and with plenty of food tasting opportunities this is a popular event.

Exhibitions for the Oil & Gas Industry

Exhibitions by Sector: Spotlight on the Oil and Gas industry

One industry for which there are a number of companies who exhibit and at which a number of Oil and Gas industry exhibitionstalks, presentations and trade takes place is for the Oil and Gas industry.

Due to the nature of the industry, a lot of money is put into the exhibitions for the Oil and Gas industry and this makes for some excellent events and in a number of countries worldwide. In all there are several dozen shows of note worldwide annually and some of the best include the:
