Events Management Degrees

If you are very interested in the events and exhibitions industry and are looking to study a degree or similar course then there are a number of options. As well as the Leeds Met degree course in Conference and Exhibitions Management and the Birmingham Institute courses, the European School of Economics now also offer a course in Events Management.

The course is a degree whereby you make your main subject area events management and the focus for these studies are to work in an Exhibitions coursesarea such as Exhibitions Management, sports and music events and other major events. The course includes work experience which sees you placed in a real working environment where you get experience in the whole events process. The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Scotland also offer a course in Conference, Exhibition And Event Management. This course is specifically aimed at conferences and exhibitions and is a full-time course. This course covers areas including exhibition planning, management and marketing.

Wine+ 2009 in Olympia Exhibition Centre, London (Trade)

It is that time of year again when wine producers, restaurants, wine buyers, caterers and wine experts meet to network at the Wine+ exhibition. The location again this year is the Olympia Exhibition Centre and the 3rd and 4th February will be the days when Wine+ takes place.

As you may now, a lot of restaurants and catering establishments plan their wine lists and buying around February and March and this carefully timed exhibition gives buyers the perfect chance to sample all of the new wines which are coming onto the market. A lot of business takes place at this event each year and this is one of the premier events for the Wine industry in the UK.

There is still time to exhibit at the event if you are a wine producer, seller or have something you wish to promote and which is connected to wine in some way. There are a significant number of exhibitors already signed up and these include well known companies such as:

National Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show 2009

February is almost upon us and that means the annual National Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show is only a few weeks away. The 6 day show is one of the largest shows which takes place in the NEC Exhibition Centre in Birmingham each year, and the dates for this years show are the 17th through to the 22nd February 2009.

With space which covers more than twenty football pitches and normally with more than 100,000 visitors, this is a big event and one with lots going on. There are different areas and these 2009 Eventscover Boats & Marine, Caravans, Motorhomes, Tens, 4x4s and camping. This year you can even camp at the event, with the Caravan Club organising facilities with onsite caming facilities.

There are some very interesting and fun, interactive elements which are included with the 2009 show and these include the:

  • Try-a-rowing sessions
  • On site camping
  • Marina and opportunity to board and view a number of boats

This is a show where you really could do with spending a whole day there, to get around and see a lot of the exhibits. Exhbitions in Australia (Venues Guide)

The Sydney Exhibition and Conference Centre is one of the main venues in Australia and it is host to many International exhibitions and a popular venue. The venue is situated in Darling Harbour in the heart of Sydney and it is a great location for attending an exhibition or for exhibiting in. Down Under Live 2009

This year's Down Under Exhibition is once again taking place at the ExCel Centre in London Docklands and with an excellent combination of Aussie and Kiwi foods, exhibits, migration and jobs advice, in addition to a number of seminars and Down Under Exhibitiontalks.

The focus for a lot of the exhibition is based around moving to Australia and New Zealand and there will be a large emphasis on job opportunities and information on every aspect of moving down under.

If you are interested in attending the show as a visitor then Pre-Registration is your best bet so that you receive a discount. Tickets on the day are prices at £15, with discounts for Under 16s.

Belfast Exhibitions: Holiday World 2009

We are now only a few days away from two of the big exhibitions which take place annually in Belfast at King's Hall Exhibition Centre: The 2009 Holiday World Show and the Caravan Camping & Outdoor Show. These two exhibitions are held together and this year the 16th - 18th January are the dates for the event. Both shows are major exhibitions and there is a lot going on over the 3 days.

Belfast ExhibitionsThe Caravan Camping show will include suppliers of motorhomes and caravans, camp sites, trip organisers and camping accessory and clothing companies. Names already signed up include: Autotrail Motorhomes, Hayes Caravans and Laika Motorhomes.

The main part of the weekend though is the Holiday Show and the 'Expert Travel Clinics' are a key part of the show this year. According the shoe website, there are already over 400 exhibitors signed up for the event.

Top 10 UK Exhibitions

The AEO (Association of Exhibition Organisers) have recently released statistics for the top UK exhibitions of 2008 and taking the size according to number of people who attended each show, the Top 10 Exhibitions for 2008 were the:

  4. International Boat Show (Southampton)
  5. BBC Summer Series (Gardeners' World, Good Homes and Summer Food)
  6. National Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show

  9. Spring Fair (Birmingham)
  10. International Caravan and Motorhome

The NEC Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in fact held thirteen of the top twenty shows for 2008 and remains one of the top UK exhibition venues. Interesting for the NEC in 2008, you may NEC Exhibitionshave also learned that the NEC have stopped supplying carpet for some exhibitors now. This though seems not to have affected the popularity of the venue and 2009 looks likely to another busy year for the industry.

Destinations Holiday and Travel Show 2009

With January now upon us and a couple of cold months ahead of us, many of you are perhaps in need of a trip abroad or at least, the chance to live vicariously and think about being abroad. The 2009 Destinations Holiday and Travel Show is one excellent travel exhibition which might thus be of interest to you.

The exhibition takes place this year between the 5th and 8th February and once again, London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre (Hall 1) is the venue.
